Welcome to the Bright Lives blog, the documentary wedding and portraiture project of yours truly, Raymond McCrea Jones. We’ll be updating this blog regularly with pictures from recent shoots. So check back often.

As some of you may know I shot weddings full time in Atlanta with Our Labor of Love (blog) before I moved to NYC to work for The New York Times. Now that I’m here permanently and finally getting settled I’m booking weddings again. Below are a few images from some recent weddings. Similar to my buddy Matt Miller, I approach my shoots differently and seek out subjects that may be considered “unconventional” by some. Chances are I won’t show up to your wedding looking like a business man. And you won’t find me drinking, dancing or making a toast. Instead I’ll be quietly observing and documenting all the fleeting moments that pass in the blink of an eye to ensure that  you have visual story of your day from start to finish.

So we’re officially booking weddings again. I just got back from a great wedding in Sugar Hill, NH and will be posting pictures very soon. Stay tuned for the coolest cycling-centric wedding ever.
